broken image

While it’s only been available in America since the early 20th century, CRANBERRY SAUCE quickly established itself as a Thanksgiving staple, and is now firmly associated with the holiday.

In Europe, especially England, cranberry sauce is more associated with Christmas—and there, it’s got a bit of a sour taste. Americans seems to prefer it on the sweet side.

If cranberry sauce is on your Thanksgiving menu, try out the recipe below for a flavor enhancement you won’t believe until you’ve tried it!

OLD STYLE THANKSGIVING CRANBERRY SAUCE

• 12 oz. fresh Cranberries

• 4–6 drops Tangerine Essential Oil

• 1/2 c. Orange Juice

• 1 c. Pure Maple Syrup (or: sugar)

• 1 drop Cinnamon Bark Essential Oil

Place cranberries, juice, maple syrup (or sugar) and Cinnamon Bark Essential Oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Cover and cook for 15 minutes. Make sure to stir the mixture every 5 minutes to keep it from sticking. After 15 minutes, the cranberries should have opened, so remove from heat. Sauce will thicken as it cools. After cooling, stir in the Tangerine Essential Oil. You’ll want to serve this dish chilled. TIP: If you like, you can make your Cranberry Sauce as much as two to three days before Thanksgiving.
